Beginner's Guide - Electric (solid body) guitars:
Whereas the main consideration in buying an electric guitar is, as with all guitars, selecting a reliable, well-made instrument with a straight neck and good action, there are many variations in shape and electronics to confuse the new buyer. The shape and colour of the guitar are purely a matter of taste but the differences in pickups and controls need to be considered to make a good choice. These factors however do not directly affect the student's learning to play. The good news is that the quality and playability of entry level guitars is better than ever!
