I spent a bit of time researching my next mandolin and settled on an Eastman 315 or 515. I went for the 515 with the ebony fretboard and better tuners and it didn't disappoint. It's a good looking instrument that plays well and sounds great.
I live in another state and was a bit apprehensive about buying remotely, but the staff at the Guitar Factory were very friendly and helpful. The mandolin came set up and ready to go, well packaged and with fast delivery. The prices in Australia compared favourably to elsewhere. I encourage you to support a local Australian retailer!
